I felt honored and excited AND humbled by the election returns on November 3, 2009.

Alderman at Large - Ward 7 (two seats)

Ruthanne Fuller: 10,965 votes
Sydra Schnipper: 8,226 votes
Jeff Seideman: 6,043 votes

Most of all, I felt grateful. Thank you!
Many of you “lent” me your good names and put your reputation on the line on my behalf. You endorsed me publicly, invited friends to your home to meet me, put a sign on your lawn with my name on it, drove a car with my bumper sticker on the back, and sent postcards or emails encouraging friends to vote for me. Some of you pitched in by stamping envelopes, joining me at the Farmer's Market, the Library or the Senior Center, and many of you held signs at the polls on my behalf. Still others opened their check book and sent a generous contribution.

Please know that your support helped me win, and, more meaningfully, warmed my heart and gave me the opportunity to meet so many great people.
